Computers (PCs) are characterized mainly by their modular design that is to say, a motherboard, expansion cards, power supply, drives, workbook, and an external monitor, most computers consist of interchangeable parts that can be added or removed easily, allowing users to perform many operations to repair and update.
Expansion cards or adapters, are integrated circuit cards designed for a special purpose, they sufficient on the motherboard, in the making called slot extensions. The nature of the slots on the motherboard features ability and power of your computer.
The motherboard, the largest integrated circuit card, sometimes called primary card contains the processor or CPU (central processor unit) which is the brain of the computer, doing most of the manipulation of data and instructions.
There is the power supply, a transformer that converts alternating current (110 or 220 volts) low voltage for the function of the computer. Its location is very easy because the power cord from the AC is plugged into its rear. It's a big metal box, from which spring many son and connectors designed to provide energy for a computer.
There are disk drives are electromechanical boxes connected to the rest of the computer in gray sheets and plates and electrical connectors from four son's power supply.
There are memories, they all come in the form of memory modules plug into the motherboard. The first papers were presented in the form of chips called DIP (Dual Inline Package). Now the memories are usually in the form of bars, that is to say, cards plug into slots provided for this purpose.
At the rear of the machine is located port cables for serial and parallel devices to a destination external video port for monitor, connectors for keyboard and mouse, plus connectors for devices such as SCSI, joysticks etc.. ....
Did you get any new informations from these words ???
